Contract Section - Insurers

Understand how Markets are captured in Tide

In the Insurers tab at Section level you can record the different Insurers that participate on the Section. Select to Add Insurer to open the entry window.

Select the Insurer from the first drop down. Divisions are presented based on their Regulator; Lloyd’s Regulated Divisions are grouped first, followed by Non-Lloyd’s and then Consortia.

Selecting a Consortium will add to the Section each of the underlying Insurers on the Consortium. The Consortium line will be depicted by a ‘C’. Consortia that are available for selection are those where:

  • The Class of Business of the Contract Section matches one of the Classes of Business of the Consortium
  • The Inception Date of the Contract is within the Inception and Expiry dates of the Consortium

If the Consortium is designated here as the Lead of the Section then the Insurer that leads the Consortium will be displayed as the Lead for the Section. Then enter the Written Line % and Estimated Signed Line %. When adding Consortia, Written Line % is not a mandatory field.

Next, indicate if the Insurer is the Lead on the Section, one Non-Lloyd’s Lead and one Lloyd’s Lead may be designated.

Finally, indicate if the Insurer is the Section administrator on the Section. The Section Administrator will have access to manage the Breaches tab (for example, updating the breach status and adding any relevant comments) and Section details.  Only one Section Administrator can be assigned for each Section. You cannot move a Contract to a Status of Signed if a Section Administrator has not been assigned on each section of the Contract.

There can be one or many Insurers, therefore catering for both 100% and subscription Contracts. You cannot move a Contract to a Status of Signed ‍ if the total Estimated Signed Line % of all Insurers does not equal 100%.

Once saved, then Users from the Insurer can then optionally edit three further fields against their Insurer entry (these can be selected when adding a Market if the user is of the Insurer being added):

  • Their Signed Line %. This is visible to all Users who can access the Contract. This is useful for reporting purposes, if the Estimated Signed Line % is not the final actual Signed Line %.
  • Their Underwriter that is applicable to this Section. This is visible to all Users who can access the Contract.
  • Their Company Section Reference. This can be any internal reference of the Section. This is only visible to Users of the Insurer.
