Contract - Renewals

Understand how to create a renewal contract in Tide

You can renew a Contract in Tide by visiting the Main tab of a Contract.

There is always the option to select ‘Create Blank Contract in Contract Folder’. This creates a new Contract in the Contract Folder but does not copy anything from the existing Contract.

If you are in the latest Contract within a Contract Folder, then you will also have the option to select ‘Create Renewal Contract in Contract Folder’. Selecting this option will create a copy of the Contract, which incepts the day following the expiry of the existing Contract permitted it has a signed status. All aspects of the Contract are copied, with the following exceptions and items to note:

  • Contract will be in a Draft Status
  • The Contract Inception date is defaulted as the day after the previous Contract expired.
  • The Contract Expiry date is defaulted to 365 days from (and including) the Contract Inception Date.
  • The Reporting Channels that include the Contract from which the renewal was created are to be expanded to include the new renewal Contract and Sections. Sections are to be selected based on their linkage to the previous Contract Sections (e.g. if a Reporting Channel had Section A in the 2018 Contract, then the linked Section A of the 2019 Contract is automatically selected).
  • Files are not copied, and so the grid in the Files tab will be empty.
  • The Unique Reference in the Main tab is not copied and will be blank.
  • Signed Line in the Insurer tab is not copied (the Written and Estimated Signed Lines are copied).
  • All Company References in the Main tab and Section References in Section Details entered by different participants are not copied.
  • Contract Links are not copied.
  • BDI Indicator will not be copied and the default setting on the Renewal will be set to ‘No’.
