Understand some of the core enrichment steps that Tide completes automatically during Transformation

There are certain enrichment steps that Tide completes automatically during Transformation. These, alongside any other changes to original values, can be viewed in the Audit Trail screen within the relevant Contract Data Screen.‍ 

Enrichment processes are classified as Change Rules in Tide, whereas data validation is classified as Validation Rules. 

The table below sets out each of these Change Rules and how they operate.

Remove ISO currency code characters & symbols

Remove ISO currency characters & symbols from financial values, before then checking whether string characters are present.

Convert date values to UK date format

Conversion of supplied date values to the UK date format.

Convert decimal values in percentage fields to a percentage value

Conversion of decimal values in percentage fields to a percentage value, e.g. 0.5 to 50%.

Remove non-date characters from date fields.

Remove non-date characters from date fields. These are a set number of non-date characters that are considered, including for example 'N/A' or '-'.

If Total Sums Insured is not supplied then use value from Total Insurable Value

If Total Sums Insured is not supplied then use the value supplied in Total Insurable Value. This ensures that Total Sums Insured is always populated as a single consistent exposure/value field.

If Total Sums Insured is not supplied then use value from Limit of Indemnity

If Total Sums Insured is not supplied then use the value supplied in Limit of Indemnity. This ensures that Total Sums Insured is always populated as a single consistent exposure/value field.

Renewal (Y/N) completed based on the first Transaction Type reported for the risk.

Renewal (Y/N) is completed based on the first Transaction Type (i.e. New or Renewal) reported for the risk.

Application of Risk Order % to financial fields

Adjust all financial fields by the Risk Order % as per a default set within the relevant Bordereau Questionnaire or as provided in the Risk Order % in the Bordereau. This is applied where all financials presented in the Bordereau are 100% of the Order.

Use of Risk Inception Date as Endorsement Effective Date

If no Endorsement Effective Date is supplied, then the Risk Inception Date will be used as the Endorsement Effective Date, and the original Risk Inception Date will remain as the Risk Inception Date.

Populate Coverage Included (Y/N)

If a column specifying whether a coverage is included is not supplied, then populate the relevant Coverage Included (Y/N) field with ‘Yes’ based on whether a value above zero is provided in the associated Coverage financial fields.

Populate Risk County based on Risk Postal Code

If Risk Postal Code is supplied for United States of America or Canada, then populate or correct the value in the Risk County field.

Populate Risk State based on Risk Postal Code

If Risk Postal Code is supplied for United States of America or Canada, then populate or correct the value in the Risk State field.
