Questionnaire - Review - Advanced Options

Understand how to use the different advanced options available in the Review step of Questionnaires

You can select the Show Advanced Options switch at the top right of the grid in the Review step of Bordereau Questionnaires. The switch expands the options available in the grid. These new options appear on the right hand side of the grid.

Standard Reference

In this column, the reference from the relevant standard that applies to the Tide field is displayed. This will typically be the 'CR' reference from the Lloyd's Coverholder Reporting Standards.

Inherit From Above

If you select Inherit From Above, then if the field is blank, Tide will look for the next populated value in the above rows, and use that value as the default value.

Switch +/-

If you select Switch +/-, then during processing Tide will switch financial figures from positive to negative, or negative to positive, depending on the original position of the value. This can be used where Coverholder Commission might be presented as a negative value, as the Coverholder is considering the value from their own cash flow perspective, but Tide needs all financial values reported positively.

Percentage Reporting

In this column you can select how Tide should process values in percentage fields. There is a drop down with options, which is only available against Tide fields of the data type percentage. The options are:

  • Number: where percentages in the Bordereau are presented as numbers without the % symbol (or example, 5, 50, or 75.5).
  • Percentage or Decimal: where percentages in the Bordereau are presented as either a decimal (for example, 0.05, 0.5, or 0.755) or as percentage values (for example, 5%, 50% or 75.5%). Percentage values in Excel are stored and read as decimals.
  • Auto-Detect: This is the default option. This means that any values equal to, or below, 1 are treated as decimals and converted to percentages (for example, 0.5 is converted to 50%) and those above 1 are treated as numbers (for example, 50 is converted to 50%).
