Reference Data-sets

Understand how Reference Data-sets are set up and used in Tide

When a Risk, Premium, and Claim Data-set field is created with a Data Types of Reference, then it is associated with a Reference Data-set. This defines the available values that incoming data must adhere to.

For example, for the Risk Reference Data-set field Transaction Type, the available values are New, Renewal, Endorsement, Cancellation, and Reinstatement. If an incoming value does not match one of these values, then an error is raised in the Reference Data Error ‍screen, where the User can select one of the available values to change it to.

Reference Data-sets are created and edited by Tide System Admin users. This ensures consistency and that there are no duplicates.

Managing Reference Data-sets

If you are a Company Admin User, then you can view Reference Data-set by navigating to Reference Data from the Admin icon in the top menu. There are two tabs: Values and Mappings.

In the Values tab are the available target values. To create a new Value select Add Value and enter the value.

To understand how to use the Mappings tab, as a Company Admin user, view the Managing your Company Reference Data Mappings article.
