Both Dates Inclusive

Understand how both dates inclusive impacts bordereau processing

BDI Contract with Multi -Year Reporting Channel

During the early stages of processing, if a Bordereau is processed against a Contract with a Multi-Year reporting channel and there are overlap dates between the expiry of one Contract and the inception of another Contract. Then any Risks, Premiums or Claims processed that have a Risk Inception date equal to the overlap date between two Contracts will be returned to the user via an error screen.

This error screen will return data grouped by Risk Inception Date and then by Year of Account.  If Year of Account has been mapped as Risk inception date then no Year of Account will be displayed and the Grouping will be based on a blank Year of Account. The User will then be presented with different options:

  • The Contract column will be red, when clicking on this field the user will be presented with the two valid contracts that this risk/s could be processed to. The details of these Contracts will be supplied with both UMR and  Contract period User will select required contract and the field will turn green. The 'Continue'  button will be disabled until all groupings have been selected and values selected

  • The 'Translate Individual Records' will be available in the error screen and if toggled on then:

(a) For Risk, Premium and Risk and Premium Bordereaux a new column will be presented first reflecting the Risk reference, all other columns except value count  will remain present. This screen will now be ordered by Risk reference and any selection made on the grouping screen will be lost and the user will now have to make a selection for each individual risk that has been presented.

(b) For Claims Bordereaux a new column will be presented first reflecting the Claims reference, all other columns except value count will remain present. This screen will now be ordered by Claim reference and any selection made on the grouping screen will be lost and the user will now have to make a selection for each individual claim that has been presented

BDI Contract with Single - Year Reporting Channel

During the early stages of processing, if a Bordereau is processed against a Contract with a Single-Year reporting channel and the Both Dates Inclusive indicator is set to Yes, then any Risks, Premiums or Claims processed that have a Risk Inception date equal to either the inception or expiry date of the said Contract, will return a warning message to the User.

This warning message will allow the User to either:

  • Revert the submission to uploaded should the records be submitted to a different Contract
  • Pause the processing to check the details
  • Continue without making any changes and accept these records for submission
