Schemas

Understand what Schemas are in Tide and how they are used

Tide records three data-sets, covering Risk, Premium, and Claims. This includes all the data fields that submissions can populate during Transformation.

Schemas exist for either Risk, Premium, or Claims, and are a bespoke collection of data-set fields. These are typically produced for a unique combination of :

  • Bordereau Type (Risk, Premium, Risk & Premium or Claim)
  • Class of Business (e.g. Property, Marine Cargo, or Aviation)
  • Territory (e.g. USA or UK)

There may be very few or just one Schema for Premium and Claims. For Risk, there will be many more Schemas, reflecting the different types of submissions.

All Bordereau submissions are translated using a Bordereau Questionnaire. In each Questionnaire a single Schema is selected, which ensures that only questions and fields relevant to the data submission is presented - e.g. Tide doesn't ask you for data fields about a vessel, when submitting a Property Bordereau.
